Simulation models

All the simulation models regarding the possible use of dry port concept in Finland are situated here.

First published simulation model compares traditional road transport and dry port implemented transport. User of the simulation model can define the amount of trucks for import and export for selected 20 Finnish cities. This simulation model simulates Finnish inland transportation. Model is divided into two parts. The first part simulates dry port implemented transport where city of Kouvola is used as the dry port implementation i.e. all the traffic between port of Kotka and city of Kouvola is performed by rail transport. Transport between city of Kouvola and import or export cities is accomplished by road transport. The second part simulates traditional road transport where only road transport is used.
